Microwave amplifiers for Low Noise and Power
           
 

Broadband microwave amplifiers on Rogers materials is a technology with which excellent results have been achieved. Amplifiers have been produced at 3.5GHz and 5.8GHz with high gain, low noise and high power.


   

 

This 6GHz amplifier was produced using Excelics Semiconductor high efficiency heterojunction power FETS on Roger RO4003 material. Typical gain is 24dB +/-1dB from 5GHz to 7GHz. Output P1dB of +25dBm and noise figure is typically less than 2dB.

This amplifier design uses a combination of Rogers material laminated onto FR-4 for ruggedness.

These amplifier evaluation boards led to a very successful transceiver design.
