Synthesizer modules

These synthesizer modules are useful tools for providing clean clock or LO signals for your RF, microwave or data acquisition system. All are FLASH based so that they can operate in stand-alone systems. The 5003 series is preprogrammed here with your frequency selections while the 5005 series can be programmed by the user using the supplied serial port software application.

Valon 5003 dual synthesizer board with FLASH microprocessor for loading RF and IF frequencies. Can have up to 16 pre-programmed RF and IF frequency combinations. Standard RF frequency range is 0.9-1.1GHz. Standard IF frequency range is 440-550MHz.

You can also order custom RF frequencies from 750-2000MHz and IF frequencies from 63MHz-950MHz.

Use the on board TCXO or external reference. RF and IF output power is >+7dBm for driving level 7 mixers directly.

The synthesizer powers up using the FLASH memory to load the jumper selected frequencies.

The 5005 dual synthesizer module provides a pair of frequency sources suitable for high quality clock, carrier or local oscillator frequency generation applications. Two, completely independent synthesizers, phase locked to a common on-board TCXO or external input.

Synthesizer A output 1250-1750MHz

Synthesizer B output 1000-1350MHz

An RS232 serial interface and simple user interface software allow the user to program the desired operating frequency of each synthesizer and save to the on-board flash memory. The synthesizer will then power up using the FLASH memory to reload the last saved frequencies.

 122006 RS232-3VTTL serial adapter module

Each of the 5005 dual synthesizer modules (above) requires one of these in order for the user to set the desired frequencies from your computer's RS232 serial port. The module plugs directly into the synthesizer via the 6-pin Hirose connector and is powered from the synthesizer.

Having a separate adapter module for the serial interface relieves the synthesizers from the bulk of the 9-Pin DSUB connector and RS233 converter hardware. This allows the synthesizer module to be more compact plus have lower phase noise since the RS232 charge pump is not present when synthesizer is separated from the adapter.
